This was a great kick-off week for this new concept in viral tangential marketing. Each day of the week, we saw incremental growth in terms of displaying the Call To Action as well as the Action of Tweeting our actual message at the correct time of day.
On Tuesday, the first call to action message was tweeted by 3 unique Twitter accounts. Moreover, the first message was tweeted by 3 unique accounts. We received 1 response due to the open nature of the tweet, “Be Ready”.
On Wednesday, the second call to action was tweeted by 6 unique Twitter accounts. Furthermore, the message “Be Thoughtful and Kind” was tweeted by 6 unique accounts. No independent responses were received.
Thursday, the third call to action was tweeted by 9 unique Twitter accounts. The message “Listen to Understand” was tweeted by 7 unique accounts. No independent responses were received were sent.
Wrap-up for the week.
Some people seem confused as to what this is. Which is both good and bad. With anything different, there is expected to be some confusion. My concern is confusion will limit participation because people don’t see what’s in it for them. This is a classic sum is greater than the parts.
I need to find a away to reward people for their participation and tell their friends. Without any viral nature to this exercise, it will ultimately fail.
I am going to encourage people to start to use Futuretweets, so we can pinpoint the time and schedule as soon as they get the tweet with the new message. I think this will help with participation.
Another challenge is measurement of response. While I can do a search for the phrase, it is difficult to determine if responses were sent to the unique Twitter account if they do not use the same phrase. We are investigating better ways to measure.
